There were queues of cars outside the drive-through Costa Coffee in St Ives in Cambridgeshire today (Sat) as the company reopened another 29 stores.
Motorists queued for their coffees, which they paid for by contactless card and had dispatched through a special hatch to avoid contact with staff.
Last week Costa Coffee opened for branches for delivery and two for drive -through after shutting all its 2,700 stores on March 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company tweeted yesterday: “Since opening 2 Drive-Thru and 2 delivery stores last Friday we’ve had such a fantastic response from our team members & customers.
