People gathered at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge at 8pm this evening (Thurs) to clap and cheer NHS staff as its iconic chimney was illuminated.
There was also a flypast by the Magpas air ambulance as they united with Brits across the country to show their appreciation for the frontline workers as they battle against coronavirus.
Hundreds of thousands of Brits joined in tonight’s Clap for Our Carers, which is happening every Thursday evening throughout the coronavirus.
Many also banged on pots and pans or sang to show their thanks. Many of the UK’s landmarks were also turned blue.
