PIC SHOWS THE VIRGINIA CREEPER AT ST JOHNS COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 21 2011.. A Cambridge University college covered in Virginia Creeper looks spectacular as it turns into a blaze of red as the last day of summer approaches tomorrow (Fri)..The ivy completely covers the back of the building at St John's College and has become one of the most famous autumn sights in Cambridge as the leaves change from green to scarlet...Three quarters of the creeper, which covers New Court, has already been transformed into splendid shades of crimson and scarlet, a day before the autumn equinox...The glorious spectacle has been attracting tourists from all over the world, who have been stopping to have their photos taken in front of the red and green foliage...In some places the vine, which climbs 10 metres high to the top of the four-storey building, is so thick it completely covers the windows...But sadly the sight is short-lived as the leaves will fall off within the next week...SEE COPY CATCHLINE Spectacular red creeper as last day of summer looms
